Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) are all unique. While NFTs may be similar, by definition, every single NFT is 100% unique. NFT artwork has emerged to become a multi-billion dollar asset class, with individual pieces of NFT crypto art selling for millions of dollars. Many different NFT artists and NFT collection creators identify various variables or “traits” that are design components of the art in their collection. Much like genetic traits in plants or animals, the traits in crypto artwork can be codified and used to discern the differences across NFTs in a collection. Certain types of traits tend to make NFTs more desired and valuable to NFT investors. Tracking and analyzing NFT traits is a high growth area, and there are now many venture capital-backed companies publishing NFT rarity tools and NFT trait analytics services.
