Mainnet

The primary production blockchain is where actual network transactions and validations occur. This term is often used in contrast to testnet, which is a blockchains testbed and testing area for software and protocol developers to explore the blockchain without putting real funds or tokens at risk. Both Bitcoin and Ethereum have an official mainnet as well as a testnet.
