A type of cyber hacking attack in which the criminal continuously overwhelms the website or hosted application with a massive surge of server and network requests to overwhelm the service, making it unusable for real users. These attacks are common in the cryptocurrency ecosystem, with common targets being cryptocurrency exchanges, marketplaces, and wallet services.
