DAO

A decentralized autonomous organization, or DAO, is an organization owned and governed by community participation and votes without reliance on a centralized authority. Many DAOs encode their rules and make decisions based on blockchain smart contracts whereby all proposals, votes and transactions are enforced on a blockchain. Many DAOs issue special governance tokens which give owners their voting rights.
