An Airdrop is a distribution method and promotional technique whereby free altcoins, tokens, or NFTs are issued to specific users. Airdrops are a popular way to reward early adopters of a new cryptocurrency, blockchain, or Non-Fungible Token project. Some airdrops deposit free tokens into users’ wallet addresses, while others require users to meet certain requirements such as owning a specific token, downloading an app, or engaging with the brand on social media. The end goal of an airdrop is to increase the user base, visibility, and trading activity of a project.
